French-Japanese Lounge Singer?

Of all the things that happened over Amy’s birthday weekend, I have to say the strangest was the synthesized multi-instrumentalist lounge singer at Shiro on Friday. After the waitress asked me who’s birthday it was, I should have known something was up, because just a few minutes later synthesizer-man started into an impromptu birthday song for “Amy, The Birthday Girl” in the most angelic singing voice.

Now that i think about it, most of his set seemed impromptu. We didn’t recognize one song. Loungy was the anti-crooner, pretty much making it up in a whirlwind of “originals” so original he made up new languages in the lyrics. There was the latin-styled song that didn’t have any spanish in it I could recognize, or any decipherable language at all. Scattastic! Let the electronic slap bass ride on!
